Tomato Pie

My boyfriend and I decided to make a savory pie out of some leftover pie dough we had in the freezer.  Basically we made a pizza in a pie crust.  First we cut up fresh tomatoes and tried to dry them off as much as possible, because we didn't want a soggy pie bottom.  We laid the semi dry tomato pieces on the bottom of the pre-made pie crust and then added a pinch of sea salt and onions, green peppers, orange peppers, yellow peppers, garlic, and jalapeños, but honestly you can added whatever your heart desires.   After we mixed Munster cheese and mozzarella with a 1/3 of a cup of mayo so all the cheese would stick and stay together.  Next we smoothed the cheese and mayo mixture over the pie as even as possible and sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top and baked for 30 minutes at 350F. The pie came out excellent.  The only advice we got was to next time maybe add some chicken or turkey or some kind of meat to make it more filling and more of a meal. ...

Noah's Seventeenth Birthday.

Last Wednesday was my little brother Noah's seventeenth birthday. Since I had to work all day and then had class after I didn't get home until eight thirty at night, but I still really wanted to make him something special for his birthday.   I made basic chocolate cake cupcakes with a chocolate buttercream frosting, and tried to make them look like little footballs.  I'll admit they're not the coolest or best looking cupcakes, but it was late and I didn't realize how low I am on baking supplies.  My brother and the rest of my family loved them though.  They tasted beyond awesome, and everyone could tell they were footballs, which is important. These were super simple, literally a four year old could make them, and with it being football season I thought they were quite festive.

The Visit: Film Review

To kick off the start of October my mom and I decided to go to the local movie theater and see the only horror movie they had playing, The Visit . I wasn't too sure about it judging by the previews, but I had multiple Facebook friends raving about the movie so I thought it was worth the seven dollar ticket.  Of course when we got there we were the only ones in the theater, so again we didn't have very high hopes, but to my surprise the movie was actually worth it, and dare I say, quite scary.   The movie was filmed to look like the main character, Becca, a fifteen year old girl, filmed it for a documentary she was making, so the movie might give you a bit of a headache at times, just like in The Blair Witch Project.   Anyway Becca's mom, Loretta, had a falling out with her parents and hadn't seen or spoken to them in over fifteen years.  Becca and her little brother Tyler, thirteen, had never met their grandparents before.   But apparently the...
